HI! So the summer is now in full swing, and with my Yoga Teacher Training done, I feel like singing “school’s out for summer” but I’m not leaving school far behind since I signed up for not 1 but 2 yoga workshops in July (and then there is my Masters degree I must finish, so school is still very much “in session”).
I haven’t posted recently. As soon as I had my yoga graduation I went on my annual girls’ trip down to Cape May. I really had the best of intentions of writing a ton of blog posts, but none even made it to the the typing and posting phase. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t thinking about this blog, though, and you all out there. Now that I’m back home, relaxed and re-energized you can expect to hear a lot more from me. And not just here on the blog… news on my new website will be coming soon so stay tuned! But a tease of some regular postings you will find coming on this blog: book reviews (yoga/spiritual, running and fiction of note – I am an avid reader), recipes – pics and thoughts (I love to cook, and am trying to be even healthier, and I also love to bake, maybe not always be most healthy, but it’s all about the balance right?! I find and Pin recipes I use on Pinterest, so you’re welcome to check out my pins), and a whole lot more!
If you do like hearing from me, one place that I am regularly posting is on my Instagram so I hope you will follow along. Being a photographer, it is one of my favorite social media platforms. This year I have challenged myself to posting at least one photo a day (#photoaday), but you can also see posts from my travels, runs, cooking, baking – really a whole hodgepodge of Tam.
So what is on my July agenda beside lots more writing to you all?
Well I mentioned the two yoga workshops I am taking. They are both at Devotion Yoga in Hoboken. The 1st is: 20 Essential Lesson of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. I am reading Sri Swami Satchidananda’s The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali now, I am really loving the interpretation of the Sutras in this book. The 2nd workshop is Erica Arce’s Yoga Ninja Flow. So these in addition to my regular practice will be keeping me busy and Zen.
Also, starting the week of July 20th I begin marathon training for the Philadelphia Marathon. I’ve been trying to stay conditioned with 3 runs a week, but I haven’t done any major mileage since the More/Fitness/Shape Half. No matter how much I may grumble, and sometimes even grudgingly put on my sneakers, I love training. I like the discipline and the goal setting. I can’t wait to see how my yoga practice will help my running, and share thoughts, tips, etc with you.
So that’s where I am right now, busy, but focused. How about you? How’s your summer shaping up.Here I am on a little road trip from Cape May to Wildwood. š
