Today seemed to be a good day to start a regular post about my running – my previous week’s runs, planned races, training, race reviews, etc – because as you may know, the TCS NYC Marathon lottery opened up today. With fingers and bruised toes crossed I put my submission in, please lottery gods, please!?!?! I have not done that great so far in the lottery category: I didn’t get in to the NYC Half or the Chicago Marathon, so 3rd time’s a charm, right?!
Last week I gave myself the kick I needed by signing up for 4 different NYRR races, in addition to the Fred Lebow Half which I had already signed up for (but have not been training for like I have with my other half marathons I’ve run). I really want to make 9+1 again this year so I don’t have to question what my 2019 marathon will be.
So what’s on my run calendar? Right now:
Sunday, January 21: Fred Lebow Manhattan Half
Sunday, March 4: Washington Heights Salsa, Blues and Shamrock 5K
Sunday, April 8: Boomer’s Cystic Fibrosis Run to Breathe 4M
Sunday, April 22: Run as One 4M
Sunday, April 29: UAE Healthy Kidney 10K
I don’t have a marathon yet – but I do have a goal of one per year (at least). In a month+ I’ll know if I’m running New York. If I don’t get in, I am thinking of the Marine Corp Marathon, and if I don’t get that, maybe the Kansas City Marathon.
Do you have lots of races in your calendar yet? What about a marathon? How about a favorite race, do you have one?
