Happy New Year! Yes, I know – it’s already 9 days in, but I had a post-new year vacation/family get together last week, so for me the new year is really rolling along starting today.
2016 was a good year. I continued to expand my yoga teaching. It has been so great to teach yoga to so many people, I love it. I also completed training to teach Pilates, which I also enjoy. I am happy to bring these great physical practices to my students. This year I have more classes, and am taking more trainings. I’ll be up at Kripalu in 2 weeks for a training for Yoga for Athletes.
My running was also good. I completed The Brooklyn Half, The Hamptons Half, oh and a little 26.2 mile run through the 5 boroughs of New York in November. Staying healthy, staying well is a goal for 2017 – and this summer will bring another marathon training, this time for Chicago in October.
With the new year, I am looking to set new goals and intentions, including lots more blogging, and many plans for this site.
So what’s in store for 2017? Deepening my yoga practice so I can share it with my students. Adding more self practice and meditation to my personal practice mix. Further focus on my diet – not in the counting calories kind of way, but even more care and mindfulness on my eating, more at home cooking, more smoothies and more meatless meals. I am a big Pinterest user and use the site like an old school recipe book, so feel free to follow me and my boards (my user name is TamTurse, so easy enough to find). More variety in my workouts. And lots more blog postings telling you about all these things.
Thank you so much for following my journey last year, I hope you’ll continue to follow along in the coming year.
Here’s to a happy, healthy and peace-filled year! xoxo
